  • Definition: The transmission clutch pump is a crucial component in the automotive transmission system. It is mainly responsible for controlling the separation and engagement of the clutch, thus enabling the precise transmission and disconnection of power between the engine and the transmission.   • Types: There are mainly two types: the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. The clutch master cylinder is connected to the driver's clutch pedal and is responsible for generating hydraulic pressure. The clutch slave cylinder, on the other hand, is connected to the clutch, receives the pressure transmitted from the master cylinder, and pushes the clutch pressure plate to control the action of the clutch disc.

Working Principle

 
  • When the driver depresses the clutch pedal, the piston inside the clutch master cylinder is pushed, causing the hydraulic oil in the pump to generate pressure.
  • This pressure is transmitted through the hydraulic pipeline to the clutch slave cylinder, pushing the piston inside the slave cylinder to move.
  • The movement of the piston in the clutch slave cylinder will release or compress the clutch pressure plate, thereby controlling the engagement and separation of the clutch disc and achieving the transmission or interruption of engine power. When the clutch pedal is fully depressed, the clutch disc is completely separated, and the engine power is not transmitted to the transmission. When the pedal is released, the clutch disc gradually engages, and the power transmission resumes.
